

Sorry, this is a kinda off-beat post, but every time I pass by this old shovel, I can't help but smile, thinking of Mike Mulligan. This was one of my favorite books as a young pup & it's nice to revert back to those days once in awhile. :)

That was one of my favorite books as a kid - I was fascinated with the ending but I won't spoil it for those who haven't read the book ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat book is my earliest memory from childhood. I spotted a beat up copy of it at the First Monday flea market in Canton TX a few years ago and it was the first time I'd seen it in probably 30+ years. I wish it had been in better shape. I totally would have picked it up! Cool steam shovel too! Kind of amazing that it hasn't been scrapped.
